Crocodile teeth

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Did you know that the crocodile has dozens of teeth but swallows its food whole?

Learn more about this large reptile and its cousin, the alligator, during the ABQ BioPark Zoo’s annual Croctober. The event will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on October 1.
Attendees can visit hands-on discovery stations and try their hand at croc-themed crafts. There will also be special keeper chats and feedings throughout the day. A full schedule can be found on the event website.
“There are some amazing facts about crocodilians and alligators, and this is the day to learn all about them,” said Audrey Lenzi, ABQ BioPark Zoo science education coordinator.
“Plus, attendees can chat with our staff, who are participating in a multi-year effort to help save the West African slender-snouted crocodile, one of the most endangered crocodiles in the world.”
Four ABQ BioPark staff members return to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire (The Ivory Coast) this October to continue with to assist the Zoo National d’Abidjan in conserving the West African slender-snouted crocodile. Learn more about the project here.
The event is included with regular admission.
