Grammy Award-winning singer, Irma Thomas is also known as the Soul Queen of New Orleans and is one of New Orleans’ most beloved and iconic entertainers. This powerhouse performer sings warmly with R&B and jazz stylings. In 2008, Thomas was honored as the subject of the prestigious New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival poster. Thomas has a rich, expressive voice with an impressive technical range and is unlike so many other soul divas. Experience this icon’s talent and heart as she takes the stage at the 2018 Route 66 Summerfest.
Ranky Tanky is a Charleston, South Carolina based quintet that performs the timeless music of Gullah culture. “Gullah” comes from West African language and means “a people blessed by God, and the music ranges from “playful game songs to ecstatic shouts, from heartbreaking spirituals to delicate lullabies.” These accomplished artists have come together to revive the “Heartland of American Music”. Audiences will be swinging their hips and nodding their heads to their spirited songs.

Mother Road Art Market
Shop local! Browse through a variety of local handcrafted artisans ranging from pottery, housewares, and baked goods to clothing, body products and jewelry. There will be plenty to choose from and these local artisans have what you’re looking for.

Kids Zone & Youth Central
The kids’ area is full of fun activities including free face painting, an inflatable bounce house, slides and games and a 25-foot rock climbing wall presented by the City of Albuquerque Parks & Recreation Department.
Old Route 66 Car Show
The Old Route 66 Car Show is back on Central Ave. and will wow car enthusiasts of all ages. Entries may register the day of the event on-site for $20 or preregister for $15: 2018 Old Route 66 Car Show Registration Form. For more information call 505.923.0759.

Parking
Parking lots and street parking is available in the surrounding area, please be sure to follow all parking laws.
Route 66 Summerfest is free to the public. Pets are welcome on leashes. This is a rain or shine event.
