Go-Jii-Yah Feast, annual celebration with foot races, powwow and country rodeo – Jicarilla Apache

“Feast Days” at each of the Pueblos are named after the Pueblos’ patron saint.  The Pueblos open up their respective Feast Days to the public (see calendar and etiquette pages) where visitors can view the reverent dances and songs offered on those days.  Feast Days bring tribal members together to renew their culture, language and native religion.  On those days, families prepare food for the many invited visitors coming through their homes, and participate in the activities taking place on their Feast Day. Pueblo Feast Day Dates do not change and are held on the same date each year.

Located by Stone Lake 19 miles (31 kilometers) south of Dulce. Annual celebration includes foot races, pow wow, country rodeo.

Lumberjacks & Fall Art Show
Sep 15 all-day

Timber scouts were the first non-Native people who saw—and sawed—the spot that would become Cloudcroft, and the town’s love affair with lumber has never let up. This year marks the 20th annual Lumberjack Day, a chance for both jacks and jills to show off their skills with axes, chain saws, and chokers. You might want to stand back for favorite events like the ax throw and hot saw, but when the sawdust settles, you’ll see Lincoln National Forest’s evergreen ridges in a new light. (575) 682-2733; coolcloudcroft.com

Come join us September 15, 2018 for our Fall Art Show in the wonderful fall weather at 9000 feet in the Southern Mountains of New Mexico. We hope to make this year’s show the best yet!

Show hours will be 10 am until 5 pm Saturday. Events will include the show, music, food, quality judging and targeted advertising to well established Cloudcroft markets.
