From majestic peaks, spectacular rivers and canyons, aird deserts and wide open prairies to push green forests, beautiful islands and miles of coastline. It is no wonder that people come to visit by the millions every year or want to call the West “home.” These lands and all they have to offer have inspired singers, songwriters, novelists, poets, playwrights, producers, and screenwriters for more than a century. Join “Ranger” Jane Leche in celebrating the awe inspiring lands of the American West that have been set aside in the public domain for all Americans to conserve, preserve, protect and enjoy. 2018 marks the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails Act and the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.
